Don't Believe A Word Of It

The Age website today would have you believe that this was the front page of the print edition:

That is, in fact, a lie.

The front page of the print edition was part of a four page wraparound ad for the new frequent flyer program of that airline owned by that swine who has made billions of pounds sterling convincing the punters he's on their side while skinning them for profits.

I know newspapers rely on ads to turn a buck, but come on...

It's also a lie because it didn't even look like that underneath: mine had 9 players, fairly tightly cropped, running towards the camera waving their arms and looking excited (except for Harry, who's too, ahem, Kewell) - with the headline 'Bring on the world' right across the page.

Yeah, mine had that too. I think ours may have been the early/late edition. The one delivered to homes is often different to the one in the shops.

Well, I reckon ours looked better.

I have mine home delivered and it looks like what you've pictured. No sign of the Virgin Blue cover though the free copies of the Age they were handing out at Flinders St station did have them, the VB wraparound.

It's a mystery. My one at home was like Virginia's. So, is it only the sale/freebie ones that have whored themselves to that ballooning English tool? The one at work (delivered - with wraparound) would suggest no.

Whatever it is, this whiz-bang editor from Scotland seems to be doing more harm than good.

Ours was exactly that one too Pete. Though the one at my local café had the wraparound.
